Can I Confess?

Can I confess?

I'm in a dilemma and I need your help.

For me blogging, which started out as a way to take my mind off from the real world and make an attempt to move past the negativity that surrounded me then, trying to makeitbeaYOUtiful - evolved with each post I wrote.

From random musings to  sharing snippets of personal life and thoughts, I found my mojo in fiction writing, bemused attempts at poetry and the occasional travel diaries.

Blogging has led me to a path of self discovery. With a better understanding of what direction I want to take for my blog, with a clear understanding of my strengths and skills, with a deeper understanding of the the meaning of 'life'; I have been thinking of changing the name of my blog - something that resonates more with what I write now.

Although my life philosophy is and always will remain that you and you alone have the power to add more meaning and beauty to your lives, I think my writings don't always reflect that. So should I change my blog name, I ponder. And wonder what effect, if any at all, will it have?

In fact, I have been going back and forth on this decision since this August, and recently when my #blogbuddy Prateek asked this question on twitter, my mind started working again.
I must also confess, I don't normally seek out for help like this. But I'm still learning the ropes of this trade called blogging and only recently have made a commitment to take it more seriously. With the new year approaching, my resolve to take my blog to the next level is getting stronger.

So, dear readers, what do you think I should do?

The person behind this blog will remain the same, learning and growing with each passing day, but the blog might get a different name....

Perhaps, aditi-kaushiva.com or aditispen.com or say writingowl.com

What do you think?

  1. An honest, heart-warming confession! I think you should follow your heart, the rest will follow suit. I also feel, you should go for aditi-kaushiva.com! Just a gut-feeling if you will! Whatever the name, the person behind is always going to beaYOUtiful!! :)

    1. Thanks Kala! :)
I have been mulling over this for long now. Starting 2016 there's gonna be a change for sure!

  2. It's a tough decision since we become kind of attached to the name and people connect you with it. Yet, I say go for it - the later you do it the more reluctant you are going to be. So now is the best time.

  3. I like 'aditispen'. That name can lends itself to any form of penmanship. Go for it. Nothing wrong with a change of a dress - I did it and never looked back :)

  4. A change might freshen things up and give your renewed enthusiasm. Using your name for the domain gives it an aura of professionalism. You can always give the blog itself another name, to be different - something catchy and memorable. ☺

  5. If your heart is set for it, go for it! Sometimes, a change is all what we need.

  6. I believe now is a good time to go for an overhaul. I am saying it more on practical side, building a brand now is easy as opposed to when you have been an old kid on the blogging block. The sooner you do this the better it is..

  7. So, what are you waiting for? Follow your gut feeling. The essence of what you write will not change

  8. Go ahead and change.. even corporates rework on their brand names and taglines as per changing times. And starting something new again would be fun too now that you have all that knowledge of the past few years in blogging.

  10. I know i raised the question and now I am seeking further advice to do it or not. I think I am where Richa feared you might be if you waited longer.
But based on all the comments above, I will do it :)
